Hi readers! :D
Before I start my post for today, I'd like to give a short comment about the durian picture on the left.
I simply couldn't believe that anyone would cut durians that way. it doesn't give the real experience of eating durian. It gotta be eaten whole!! I mean, welll.. you know what I meant. lol.
I know it's been quite a while since I last blogged here. To be honest, I actually tried to post something here around my graduation day as there were many many many interesting stuff to share, really. Too many that I've lost track about what happened in details. Awh Nooooooo!!!
But, what can I do? My weak-willed self failed to push myself to actually complete a post (and publish it online). ~.~' If you ask me how did it happened, the circle goes like this:
1. I started a post, stopped for a while till I forgot about the uncompleted post
2. After quite a while, I got into a realization that I have an unfinished post to complete
3. Tried to complete it (yet the time lag was too long that I had to literally rewrite everything to make it more relevant to my current situation)
4. Having not enough time to complete it (or lack of motivation to complete it), I postpone the post
5. After a while, I forgot the existence of this blog
6. and it goes back to number 2 . =.='
Yes I know it's really bad to have this habit. Hence, I'm doing my best to break it. That is, to STOP postponing stuff! lol. The problem is, heart is willing but the flesh is weak. lol. Anyways, here I am writing early in the morning when I'm supposedly to be sleeping. :P O well..
Alright, back to the main story. The post today is.. well.. about uni. Pretty straightforward from the title I guess. haha.. Been trying to keep things short and simple. Too bad, I'm really bad at this. Grah!!!
Right. Back to uni.
First of all, I'm back to uni!! Woohoooo! :D :D :D I never imagine myself doing a master degree in professional accounting, but here I am! Half way in my first semester, megap megap melalui badai uni. lol. Being back to uni gives me a mixed feeling.. like... Durian?
lol. why durian? o.O?
Coz It's hard to open, spiky (and yes, it hurts if you got pricked by it), smelly, yet heavenly sweet, with a bad smell that lingers in your breath for a couple of hours that sometimes you'll get sick of it. And, YES!! That's exactly what uni feels like. :P mwahahahahahahh..
It's hard to go through; and yes, the assignments and assessments gives you pain on your back and neck; In addition, the people you're working with for group assignments are not always supportive. The free loaders give you headache during weekdays --.--'. Even worse, it's smelly!! (read: wherever you go, your thoughts and anxiety about uni follows you EVERYWHERE) until you feel like running away from it. See the resemblance? hahahh..
Apart from the bad bits from uni, it's also sweet. The sweetness encompasses you to go through all of the bad bits to get to the core of the evil yet lovely durian. Uni: full with interesting people to know, full with interesting experiences, full with free time (urm.. when you're on holiday) and of course, more knowledge to absorb. :)
Some of the interesting experiences are really unforeseeable (or not), like what happened today.
It is week 9 of uni. Most students are panting in relief after the mid semester exams are over. Normal and outgoing people started to get nerdy, and the bird chirps *what??*
Anyway, my point is: the storm of the first half of the semester is almost over with mid semester break in front of our eyes.
We don't care about the assignments that await for us after the break. We just need a good doze of break from uni.. and apparently, I think the lecturers also feel the same way too! :S
Why is that so? Well, I got the idea from what happened today.
First thing after I woke up (after shower etc2), I tried to do the tutorial questions for Stats5001. The thing is, I don't understand the multiple regression analysis topic! Let alone the multiple regression analysis, I don't even fully understand the simple regression analysis =.=' what a bummer. However, since I don't understand it, I tried my best to do it.
How? by, of course, referring back to the lecture notes! Hupla!
So I flipped over the notes, jotted down the formulas etc etc and found myself even more confused. After a while, I gave up and didn't do any of the questions and go to uni. So I thought, I'll learn during the tutorial, then do some catch up work at home later on.
Once I got to uni, I went to the tutorial room, met my friend (N) and share my confusion about this regression topic. N is a smart and diligent student and she is totally the opposite of me. She LOVES calculation and hates theory and essays. She always do her tutorial questions regardless she understands the topic or not. Not today though. To my surprise, she also didn't do the tutorial as she doesn't understand it. So I thought, it's only N and I who's lost in this class.
So the tutor (K) started teaching for a while. N and I stared at him and listened carefully. The problem is, I do not understand a single thing he's trying to teach. Especially when He's using unfamiliar terms and formulas. I started to get panic. N too!
After the first question is done, a young chinese lady came into the class and talked to K while pointing to the question paper. We couldn't hear what she's saying.. till suddenly, K looked up to the class and asked "did any of you understand what I've been teaching today?"
and the class went silent.
"Have you learnt this topic before?"
...
Yep! That's true. No one actually nodded. People either shook their heads or stare blankly to him. LOL. And I was like "that makes sense!! I couldn't make any sense whatever he's trying to teach today! That's right!! This topic is not taught yet =.='"
Turns out, the tutorial Q is the Q set for this week's lecture (which I'm about to have in 8 hours from now). The lecturer got it mixed up with a different file. lol. In the end, some people left the class, while the rest (including me) stayed and try to comprehend the logic of how to solve the questions. lol.
After a while, we were then told to do the last question by ourselves. Not knowing which formula to use or how to do it, N and I stared blankly to the paper while peeking to the previous answers. Maybe it'll enlighten our understanding.. or not.
.....
Well.. At least we tried. :P until...
N: "awh, is that nail polish?" she spoke to me
me: "ah, yeah.. Have just polished it a couple of days ago" I answered while showing my nails.
N: "huh? Ohh!!! nono.. I mean, K. His feet nails seem a bit blingy."
...
and yes. It was silver/pinkish nail polish on his nails. MAN!!! that's disturbing. But yeah.. that's new.
After class, I walked out the room, going to the quad as my usual Wednesday routine. As I walk through the main walk, I could sense danger. People in purple, green and blue are giving out fliers.
Right. It's the campaign for student representative election.
I have to avoid these people.
Soooo, I walked in a snake route (go to the right, straight up, then to the left and right and back :P) in avoiding those ppl. Unfortunately, my "snaking skill" is not good enough as I got caught by a guy in purple. He kept telling me about the changes he's about to make to uni once he's elected (yeah people. He's one of the candidates!! What can go worse than this?? @.@')
So he followed me for a minute or two. As I thought I won't be able to escape, another guy in green approached us and gave me a flier. He seemed like about to do what this purple guy is doing to me. >.< Not wanting to hear anymore about these campaigns, I abruptly wave my right hand and reject their speech then thanked them. I was sooooo close to being brought away to the side of the road to listen to their comments about their groups. Phew! that was close!
Since I'm not a big fan of voting for uni reps, I see them as one of the durian's spikes. :P lol.
Anyhow, back to what I've said before. Uni life is hard to open, spikey (and yes it pricks), smelly, yet so sweet that you'd want more and more and MORE!! lol.
Pesan Moral:
Uni life is hard (to open), spikey (again, it pricks!!) and smelly, yet so schweeeet!! Enjoy it as you can!
PS: Durian opposers, this message applies for you too! hehehe~
